Wedding Dress Shopping

Congratulations!!! You’re engaged!  Its such an exciting time for you and your fiance!  Once the bubbly has been popped, the partying has settled, and you’re done soaking it all in, it’s time to start planning.  Wedding dress shopping is such a fun part of the process.  You’ll find me perusing the designers’ websites looking at new styles occasionally lol.

I love wedding dresses so much that I obsess over capturing the dress on wedding days.  I make sure to capture lots of photos of the dress itself, of brides in their dresses, and of all the details, whether its the sleeves, the lace, the intricate back, or the train.

Here are a few tips on how to make wedding dress shopping fun and stress free:

Tip 1 The Perfect Girls’ Day Out

Dress shopping is the perfect reason to have a day out with all your girlfriends.  Don’t forget to include moms, mother-in-laws, and grandmas as well! And, start off the day with brunch, mimosas included!

Tip 2 Make Appointments

Make appointments at the bridal salons you plan on visiting.  While some salons do accept walk ins, the best way to ensure the best experience is to reserve ahead.

Tip 3 Take it Easy

Don’t rush through the day.  Bridal appointments are usually 1 hour long.  So, soak in that time and enjoy the process.

Tip 4 Do Some Research

Peruse the internet looking at different designers to see if you like a certain style.  If you are drawn to a specific designer, you can schedule with a salon that carries it.

This tip can be skipped if you have no clue on what you like or what might look good on you.

There are usually 3 types of brides:

  1. The bride that knows exactly what they want, down to the designer
  2. The bride who has no clue where to start and wants the bridal consultant to lead the way
  3. The bride who has a vision for their dress but is open to seeing different styles

Which ever bride you are, your bridal consultant will guide you to find your perfect dress.
