I am so glad you're reading this guide! I know that photography is one of the biggest decisions you're making for your wedding day. You've invested in making your day perfect. Now, invest in capturing your day so you can share it with your future kids and grandkids!
Even if your're working with a wedding planner or planning it yourself, there are still a lot of moving parts leading up to your day.
As an Orlando wedding photographer, I tend to get asked the same things. So, I thought it would be beneficial if I put together a guide that walks you through the process from engagement sessions, to timelines, and even to inclement weather.

I don’t believe that photography is one-size-fits-all. I serve couples who believe that getting genuine and joyful pictures not only starts with a deep love for each other but also a friendship with their photographer.
I will be there with you during your most intimate moments. Moments where you get to see your husband for the FIRST time. Moments where you will be sharing special notes you've written to each other. It's not something I take lightly and I want to make sure that we are the perfect fit.

Coffee/tea dates with my couples is something I love. Its a great way to get to know each other and for me to answer your questions.
I am able to walk you through the entire wedding day-- from the moment I arrive to your hotel room to the sparkler exit.
Its also a time where you get to spill all the special wedding details you've got planned. (PS I LOVE getting sneak peeks of your wedding dress eekkk)

Once we've decided that we are the right match, I'll send over all the legal stuff-- contracts and deposit info. This will allow me to block off your date and decline any further inquiries for that day.

Engagement sessions are SO much fun. Its the time to celebrate your love and freeze this short, season forever.
I also love it because it helps build our relationship and make you more comfortable in front of the camera.
Another major plus is that you have photos to share for Save-The-Dates, engagement parties, and rehearsal dinners.
An engagement session will, also, show you how I work. From the way that I pose you, to the terms that I use, its a great way to see how we interact. It also ensures that we’re the perfect fit for each other.

Approximately 2 weeks prior to your wedding, I'll Facetime you to go over your final details: timelines, special requests, etc.
I'll also send you a questionnaire that allows me to serve you to the fullest on your wedding day.
I want to make the day as stress free as possible and the way to do so is for me to be 110% prepared.

The day is finally here! Time for you to relax and let me capture your day!
You have poured your heart in to planning-- choosing the perfect bouquet, engraving your wedding bands, picking the perfect shoes, and organizing the biggest party of the year. Now, CELEBRATE!
Enjoy the morning while you sip mimosas with your gals. Take in every minute of your first look. Cry as ugly as you want! Dance the night away!

The first look has become very popular. It offers a chance see each other all dressed up, to cry and laugh, and to just be together.

Having a first look earlier allows us to get LOTS more photos. Not only is my camera firing during the first look, but we are able to capture more traditional photos of you and your boo afterwards.
Major bonus: your hair and make up are still fresh, so you look super FAB!
First looks give us more flexibility with the timeline. If we are able to capture a lot of photos early on, there is less worry about getting the additional photos later , especially if the weather changes.
Sometimes, as the weather changes, we'll have to change the timeline. With the first look, we have a lot more options if it rains or if the heat is too much to handle (Florida summers can be brutal!).

Having a timeline custom for your day is very important. It essentially affects every part of your wedding day experience. So, it's something you should think about early on, especially before you send out invitations.
I have put together some sample timelines based on a 10 hour wedding day for you to get an idea of how a first look can change the entire day.
There are so many variables in a wedding day, so, we'll work on your custom timeline once you book me as your Orlando wedding photographer!

In the day and age of cell phones, it has become normal for guests to be engulfed in their digital devices; texting, browsing social media, and taking photos; and not being fully present in the present.
I recommend asking your guests to unplug during your ceremony. Put the phones away and be 100% present.
You've made a big investment in Orlando wedding photography, so let me capture your ceremony without potentially having a large iPad blocking your face as you walk down the aisle with your father. Or, without having your Uncle Bob jump in front of me to take a photo of your first kiss.

Some of your first photos as HUSBAND and WIFE. are taken during golden hour, around 6pm. I like to sneak you away for about 15 minutes. Now, don't worry, it's usually when the guests are eating or lining up for food, so you won't miss a thing!
I always recommend sunset photos because, not only are the pictures magical (its not called golden hour for nothing) but it also gives you two a little time to take it all in because yesss, he is your HUBBY now!
After the ceremony, the rest of the day becomes a whirlwind of events. Things get pretty hectic and the time passes by SO quickly. Taking the time to sneak away for photos gives you a little break to regroup and get some alone time. AND, it gives you some beautiful photos to look back on.

I have never felt so beautiful. As a mom, it’s easy to put ourselves last. Easy to concentrate more on our families needs than our own. When Lanh mentioned doing a solo session, I was a bit hesitant . But I am so glad I did. I felt so pampered and so pretty.
Being pregnant isn’t always sunshine and roses. My body has changed so much and sometimes that’s hard to accept. When I look at the images Lanh created, I see myself differently. Although my body has changed, it is amazing and it is growing another beautiful daughter.

Where do I begin? This is my first pregnancy and it has been a little rough, to say the least, dealing with all the COVID. I was so lucky to find Lanh. I sent her an email and she emailed me right back. She fit me in that weekend at 38 weeks pregnant!!
I had been feeling so self conscious of my changing body and she made me feel beautiful which, honestly, is priceless. I was completely pampered from the moment I walked in, got my hair and make up done, and got to wear her fabulous dresses. She made my husband and I feel comfortable in front of the camera and took the most gorgeous pictures!

My maternity session was one of the best moment of my pregnancy. This was my first pregnancy so everything was new to me and I had hard time accepting my new body. Gaining 30LB in such a short period of time was very hard on me physically and mentally, however Lanh helped me celebrate my body, my journey of becoming a mother and also capturing the love between my husband and I.
We had to cancel wedding due to covid back in 2020, and we decided to start our family instead. It was always my dream to wear beautiful dress and take pictures. Lanh made sure I got that and I cannot thank her enough for this.

From the introductory call, Lanh made my husband and I feel so comfortable.

Lanh was incredible. My husband and I are very awkward camera people but her wardrobe skills, coaching, encouragement, and the entire vibe of her studio were so impeccable it put us at ease immediately. From the initial conversation to the final delivery of photos, Lanh was nothing but EXCEPTIONAL!
Hair and make up alone made be feel like a movie star. Then stepping in front of the photography backgrounds and having her assistant toss my dress train into the air, I felt like an absolute model.
Prior to the photoshoot my husband wasn’t really sure why we needed maternity photos, let alone why he needed to be involved. During and after the shoot, he totally got it.

Everything about my experience with Lanh was nothing short of fabulous. When I was looking for a maternity photographer, I knew I wanted someone who offered a client closet. While there are a few photographers who offer that, none of their websites were as detailed and thorough as Lanh's. She was very helpful as I tried on dress after dress in her studio as we worked to find the perfect ones to make me feel amazing.
As the day of the shoot drew near, she kept me updated with email reminders and again was always very timely with her responses.
Lanh thinks of everything and will have you covered from head to toe. Hair and makeup was flawless and will make you feel like a goddess.
For the actual shoot, she brings a pop-up tent so you can change into your various outfits and made us feel so at ease. I know most people will say they aren't naturals in front of the camera or know how to pose but again, Lanh will guide you the entire way.
Gallery delivery was super fast as was her turnaround for the final images that we selected. And lastly, the photos are beautiful. You will not regret working with Lanh!

These pictures made this entire pregnancy feel like what I always thought being pregnant should feel like. With the COVID virus we couldn't do anything. Lanh's gown closet was extensive and I got to CHOOSE MULTIPLE LOOKS FOR MY SHOOT! Her photos were stunning and while I was worried about the price tag a bit, if you consider the cost of the dresses you would purchase plus consider cost for hair and make up it's a deal.
Day of the shoot she brings a portable tent for you to change into your different gowns. She sets your shoot at what she calls "the Golden hour." This seemed silly at first. But, trust the professional!! The lighting was perfect!! She was patient and directed me and my family.
The icing on the cake of an already amazing experience... the actual photos ( which is what matters, am I right). Ugh ...they were stunning! I was in love with all of them! You pay for what you get! I promise you won't be disappointed! Worth every single penny I spent! I cannot thank you enough, Lanh! Truly, your so gifted at what you do!! Still so in love with my photos!

Where do I begin? Lanh was such an amazing photographer to work with. She was not only professional, she was super kind and patient as well. You can tell this is her passion because she puts her entire heart and soul into her work.
She was able to work with my crazy schedule and had everything set up from hair and makeup to finalizing photos and making sure all the details were just right.

The experience I had with Lanh was exceptional.
Lanh is such a patient photographer and the whole process went so smoothly for me. And that’s saying a lot bc I have an incredibly moody 2 yr old son who was definitely not willing to be cooperative. But Lanh was so patient with us and did not pressure us at all with him.
I told her I had very realistic expectations when it came to photos that included my toddler but she definitely worked her magic and we ended up with pictures I didn’t even think would be possible.
She’s such a calming presence and my husband and I felt so comfortable the entire time. Not to mention, the amount of absolutely beautiful dresses she has in her client closet is incredible!

Booking my maternity session with Lanh was everything I could have ever dreamed of! I knew I wanted her to photograph my last maternity session even before I was pregnant.
The whole process was so easy and I didn’t have to worry about hair and make-up or what to wear! She has a whole wardrobe closet that clients can choose from. From the session with Lanh, I able to have beautiful pictures of my daughter. Also, I honestly have to admit, it rekindled a flame with my husband! Being first time parents was definitely an experience and finding the balance for one another was an obstacle. But having these pictures, I’m reminded of the amazing man that he is. I found Lanh and was so excited that she offered not only beautiful couture gowns but on-site hair and makeup. It was a one stop shop and I was only going to have to worry about showing up for our photoshoot.
The day of was super simple. I showed up, got pampered with hair and makeup, and Lanh was so attentive and helpful getting dressed. My experience could not have been better and our photos were amazing.
So amazing that we recently took some updated family pictures - some which included a 4 generations photo. The process was just as simple and easy as the first time despite having my mom, grandma, and baby joining the pictures this time.
Lanh displayed such care and patience when photographing the baby, taking breaks when needed if the baby was being fussy, and overall top tier professionalism.

Have your hair and make up done FIRST, before your bridesmaids.
Many times, the #1 reason why timelines get off schedule is because of HMU.
If you get your HMU done first, we have more time to capture photos of you and continue as scheduled to your first look.

Make sure to have your bouquet and boutonnieres delivered in time to make an appearance in your detail photos.
Ask your floral designer for extra stems and greenery for styling- trust me, it makes a HUGE difference in the photos and adds a touch of elegance.

Advise your day of coordinator to hold off on letting guests enter ceremony and reception space before we photograph it.
We want to grab photos before people start putting down purses and coats.

I send a questionnaire before the wedding day. Make sure to discuss it with your fiance and fill it out.
The most important part of the questionnaire is Family Formals. To make sure it goes as smooth as possible, I will have the list that you send me, in hand, to ensure that we include everyone you want.
I always recommend narrowing down family members to the most immediate since family formals can easily take 30 minutes or more.

Try sending me two sets of invitations before your wedding day. This will ensure that you won't forget to pack it on the wedding day and that I have it to capture.
Sometimes, I style them the day after the wedding if I'm able to grab some spare flowers from a centerpiece or arbor.
If you are unable to send it, I recommend, on the wedding day, bringing TWO invitation suite sets with envelopes, stamps, and wax seals.
