The entrance of the Westin Lake Mary was full for this gold and red Hindu wedding. Jiri and Asha’s family and friends, phones in hand, were ready to record the much awaited arrival of Jiri. The loud thumping of the drums could be heard in the background. Jiri rounded the corner, sitting on the seat of the red, Ferrari convertible. As the family cheered, Jiri approached them. He jumped out the car and the celebration and dancing began.
Hindu weddings are based on traditions and family. Asha and Jiri’s were dressed in the most beautiful and elaborate Sari and Sherwani. Having held the Sari myself, I have to say, Asha is one strong woman to have worn it for 8+ hours that day! I had to hold the skirt with TWO hands and even that got to be heavy. The beading was jaw dropping!
I loved being able to witness their traditional, gold and red Hindu wedding. I loved the smell of the incense, chanting of prayers, burning of fire, and the 7 marital promises. There is just something so humbling about traditional ceremonies.
When I met Asha for the first time, I was welcomed with the sweetest and most welcoming hug. Then when I first witnessed Asha and Jiri together, it was immediately evident that they were completely, head over heals for each other. It was an absolute pleasure being part of your day, Asha and Jiri! You love and admiration for each other is #goals! May your life together be filled with much growth, love, and happiness!
