Guillermo & Breonna: Colorado Ice Castles and Mountain Session

Guillermo and Breonna have known each other since they were 7!  After attending school together, Guillermo’s family moved to Florida,  They reunited after a few years and their friendship stayed alive through Guillermo’s visits to Colorado.  Eventually they started dating and Bre was able to convince him to move to Colorado.  They’ve been together since!  I had the honor of capturing some post-wedding photos of them at the Ice Castles!

These two love birds eloped last year in Maui.  They were able to get beautiful photos on the beach but Bre wanted to have some photos captured in their home state.  It has always been a dream of mine to photograph in the snow and I think I hit the jackpot with Guillermo and Bre!   Not only are they #couplesgoals but the snow was still fresh from the recent storm!  We also got lucky with the return of the Ice Castles in Dillon, CO.

Of course, a session in Colorado isn’t complete without mountains as a backdrop.  Sapphire point overlook offered beautiful views of Lake Dillon and the ski resorts nearby.  It was also a beautiful spot to capture the snow dusted trees!

With temperatures in the teens, we were all shivering, hands frozen and grabbing for our jackets every chance we got!

Underneath the beautiful wedding dress were boots and layers of thermals!  It got colder as the sun set and parts of us kept wanting to end the session BUT we kept going.   Guillermo even hid at the end of the session fearing that Bre and I would discover a new spot to take another photo!  I think it was absolutely worth it because I CANNOT stop staring at these photos!  If you are ever in Colorado during the winter, the Ice Castles are a MUST visit.

Guillermo and Breonna, thank you so much for trecking all the way out to the mountains for this session!  I had so much fun capturing your love!  You two are the cutest!  Bre, you are gorgeous and you ROCKED that dress!  No one would ever know how cold it really was just by looking at these photos!  Guillermo, I hope you continue to agree to do photoshoots with Bre because: happy wife, happy life!
